Great Lakes Taiko Center (GLTC)

Thursday, June 16 at 5:45pm

The Great Lakes Taiko Center (GLTC, 五大湖太鼓センタ) celebrates the empowering art of Japanese taiko drumming. Taiko is rooted in Japanese musical traditions and continues to grow today as a global cultural arts movement that heightens imagination, uplifts spirits, and builds community. The GLTC supports three performance groups that exemplify the artistry and spirit of Japanese taiko drumming in the Midwest: Raion Taiko (Sound of Thunder), performing taiko powered by love; Godaiko Drummers (The Great Lakes), sharing taiko music and culture; and Tanoshii Taiko Tai (Fun Folks), enjoying taiko as lifelong learners! The groups in the GLTC Collective practice and perform year-round with concerts, workshops, festivals, and celebrations in their local communities and beyond, bringing a potent and joyous energy to every audience. Come experience their dynamic, festive energy for yourself at A2SF this summer!

This event is free and takes place at Top of the Park located at 915 E. Washington, Ann Arbor, MI 48109. Get directions and parking details here.
