Friday, June 24 7pm | Rackham Stage

The music of Ann Arbor-based four-piece Chirp is a freewheeling, genre-bending, dynamic experience. Composed of guitarist Jay Frydenlund, bassist Brian Long, guitarist Sam Naples, and drummer Gaston Reggio, the group’s sound is best characterized as progressive rock/funk and jazz-fusion, with a melodic center. With influences ranging from modern acts like Snarky Puppy to classic bands like Steely Dan, Led Zeppelin, and the Beatles, Chirp’s spirited tunes tie in many technical elements while placing an equal emphasis on grooving and keeping people moving. With several live albums – including their most recent Live at Ann Arbor Summer Festival, recorded a previous year of our very own fest – and hundreds of shows played across the Midwest, Chirp’s high-energy performance is sure to light up the stage at A2SF this summer.

This event is free and takes place at Top of the Park located at 915 E. Washington, Ann Arbor, MI 48109. Get directions and parking details here.
