Scott Silven’s The Journey FAQs

How many other people will be in the room?
Each intimate, interactive performance has a maximum of 30 guests inhabiting the same digital space from across the world.

How many tickets do I need to get for my friends and family?
Depending on your group size, it’s best to attend the show with one person per ticket/per screen. For example, if two individuals in your household want to participate in the same evening, please purchase two tickets and enjoy on separate devices with headphones.

Can I purchase tickets for my friends?
Yes! And be sure to share your emails with them about the show. The email address associated with the ticket purchase will receive the advance content for the show, including a unique link to access the show and our virtual waiting room before the start of the show to test each participant’s device.

Will I see my friends and family in the show if we attend the same one?
In The Journey, there will be a few opportunities to see the entire virtual audience immersed in the digital space with Silven. If you have friends or family that you have not been able to see in a while, consider coordinating with them to attend The Journey together. While you won’t be able to talk with one another, you’ll be connected through interactions with Silven and moments when the whole audience is visible in the virtual space.

When will I receive my login details for the show?
Upon completing your purchase, a unique link to access your selected showtime will be sent to the email address used when purchasing your tickets. A reminder email will also be sent 2 hours prior to showtime. If you do not receive an email from us by the day before the show, please contact the Festival Office at 734-994-5977 or email

What is this advanced content I keep hearing about?
Upon purchasing your ticket, you’ll receive a confirmation message via email from us with a link to discover special advance content from Scott Silven. We encourage you to engage with this content prior to the show to be prepared for The Journey. It should only take about 20 minutes! If you are unable to watch the pre-event footage, don’t worry. You will still be able to enjoy the event.

What do I need to participate in The Journey?
We recommend the following for the best experience:

A desktop or laptop computer
A stable internet connection
A working webcam (built-in or external)
A pair of headphones with built-in microphone
A well-lit space
Two pieces of paper
A pen (we recommend a thick black sharpie)
An object of meaning (this could be a family heirloom, a piece of jewelry, or an oddity you have acquired)

What is the level of participation in this show?
Most audience members will be called on by Silven to participate in the evening’s mesmerizing events. This might include talking about your special object or answering one of Silven’s questions. It is recommended that each participant be comfortable talking to Silven for a few seconds, but don’t be nervous—he’s very friendly.

How do I view the performance?
The Journey is best viewed on a desktop or laptop computer with a minimum 10” screen. Mobile phones are not supported. We recommend using a wired ethernet connection or sitting as close to your wireless router as possible.
