Wilson Thicket brings their virtuosic acoustic three-part harmonies to A2SF this summer. With the soul of Appalachian strings, the spirit of bluegrass, and a strong dose of creative instrumental mastery, these musicians infuse old-school bluegrass with a modern flair to create their own take on the classic American genre. Wilson Thicket is composed of Jason Dennie, Aaron Markovitz, Keith Billick, and Scott Kendall, who between the four of them play a combination of guitar, mandolin, banjo, and upright bass, with vocal duties shared between the first three. This talented group of musicians brings decades of performing experience in a variety of ensembles to Wilson Thicket. From old-school favorites to compelling covers and dynamic original songs, their music has plenty of roots and lots of grass but doesn’t leave out the flowers, either.
