Singer-songwriter May Erlewine makes a triumphant return to an A2SF stage this summer. Prolific and passionate in equal measure, Erlewine writes songs of substance that feel both new and soulfully familiar. Erlewine values environmental advocacy, social justice, creative empowerment, and community building as necessary work in our world, all of which is felt in the power of her poignant music. Erlewine’s catalog includes over a dozen full-length albums and numerous collaborations, most notably with members of funk band Vulfpeck. Her work has been spotlighted by Rolling Stone and NBC’s The Voice, while her most recent album The Real Thing (released in 2023) features ten tracks of tender folk pop tunes that offer plenty of space for her graceful voice to shine over gentle yet moving instrumentation. Produced by Theo Katzman of Vulfpeck, the album highlights her songwriting recorded live at his studio in the woods of Northern Michigan. Erlewine’s words hold solace for weary hearts and offer a light in the darkness, gesturing at the pain and joy of being alive. Experience the joy in communal harmony when you see Erlewine live at Top of the Park!
