Leslie DeShazor

Saturday, July 2 at 6pm | O&W Grove Stage

Violist, violinist, composer, arranger, and Michigan native Leslie DeShazor brings her classically trained yet diverse sound to A2SF this year. A 2021 MPower Grant recipient and 2021 TEDx speaker, DeShazor was named one of thirty Professional Movers and Shakers in the Performing Arts by Musical America in 2019. DeShazor has performed as a soloist with the Toledo Symphony and as a freelance artist with a vast selection of orchestras, including the Michigan Opera Theatre Orchestra, Detroit Symphony Orchestra, and Flint Symphony Orchestra. In the jazz realm, she has performed with the Detroit-based groups Musique Noire and Straight Ahead, as well as with jazz greats like Roy Hargrove, Pat Metheny, and Detroit legends Regina Carter and Marcus Belgrave, to name just a few. That’s not even close to all; she has performed and recorded with Grammy award-winning R&B stars like Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, and Aretha Franklin, and even recently expanded her versatility by playing both viola and violin as a part of award-winning hit musicals Hamilton and Hello Dolly. See the magic of her sonic adventures for yourself this summer.

This event is free and takes place at Top of the Park located at 915 E. Washington, Ann Arbor, MI 48109. Get directions and parking details here.
