Genres: Pop, Indie Folk, Singer-Songwriter

A2SF welcomes southeast Michigan-based singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Lauren Blackford. Spending her youth in choirs, theater productions, and honing her piano skills, the now 21-year-old Blackford began her career in earnest composing original songs inspired by Taylor Swift, P!nk, and Sara Bareilles. While in high school, she learned music production and following graduation, taught herself to play guitar and hit the local scene, performing everywhere from local cafés to the Ann Arbor Art Fair. While her live performances emphasize wistful acoustics, Blackford’s eclectic indie production shines behind the scenes. She released her self-produced debut EP, One Too Many Times, just this April, a collection of songs that showcase her diverse range and distinct writing style. From folksy ballads to alternative rock, her emotion-driven melodies pair sparkling songcraft with refreshing lyricism, attracting audiences of all ages. Don’t miss her lively performance and interpersonal charm at Top of the Park this summer!
