Kidzone (Virtual): Adventures in Technology Through Optics

Saturday, June 20 @ 4pm

NOTE: This is a virtual, streamed event.

Join the Optics Society of U-M as they provide virtual demonstrations that reveal the science behind colors and light. Marvel at various optics experiments that you can try at home using simple objects.

Supplies you will need:

  • Laser pointer
  •  Plastic water bottle you wouldn’t mind punching a whole in
  •  Knife or a BBQ stick to punch a small hole on the plastic water bottle

From learning karate, building a lava lamp, or creating plant art, KidZone offers different nightly activities for families.

Sessions will be broadcast on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday sessions can also be found on CTN public access television (channel 17 for Comcast).

You can also stream it online here.

KidZone is presented with generous support from C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital. C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital is among the nation’s best children’s hospitals in all ten categories evaluated by U.S. News and World Report. C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital was the only hospital in Michigan ranked in all ten specialties.
