A2SF welcomes back R&B artist Kenyatta Rashon, the Queen of Ypsi. Inspired by iconic vocalists like Amy Winehouse, Erykah Badu, Janis Joplin, and Tina Turner, Rashon has shared her musical gifts from the boardwalks of Venice Beach to the subways of Harlem. She has been featured in the Michigan Chronicle, Current Magazine, and Concentrate Magazine and was a member of the inaugural class of Washtenaw’s Amplify Fellowship, an opportunity that helped further her career and brought her closer to the community. 2021 saw the release of The Art of Keeping It Real, a gorgeous contemporary R&B album with a lyrical emphasis on her thoughts on the ups and downs of relationships and life. Most recently, she had the opportunity to open up for R&B legend Stokley (formerly of Mint Condition) at the MotorCity Sound Board in Detroit. Rashon is excited to be working on new material and looks forward to reconnecting with her fans and new audiences as she is set to release at least two new singles and visuals in the summer of 2024. Check her out live at Top of the Park this summer!
