The O&W Acoustic Stage
Called a “drop dead show stopper” by Music Connection Magazine, singer-songwriter and pianist Diana Lawrence draws on styles as wide-ranging as pop, blues, folk, jazz, and cabaret. Her sound has been compared to Ben Folds, Fiona Apple, and Regina Spektor (Chicago Sun-Times). Back in her home base of Chicago, you’ll find her working as a musical director for The Second City, The Joffrey Academy of Dance, and The Chicago Symphony Chorus, as well as the frontwoman for the popular Chicago band Diana & The Dishes. In 2012, she released the solo EP To: Aging Children. Last year she composed the music for “Next Stop: A New Chicago Musical” and opened for songbird Nellie McKay in Chicago. Welcome this Ann Arbor native back to the festival!
