Sunday, June 18 @ 6pm The O&W Acoustic Stage
Imported from Brooklyn, this is what is sounds like when Motown attracts major talent from New York City. Barelyon [as in, barely on] arrived on the southeast Michigan scene in 2014, impressing audiences with soulful, perfectly matched harmonies that rise to meet each other in carefully arranged blues rock originals. Singer Leona’s elegant alto will remind you of Sade and Stevie Nicks, while singer/guitarist Brion’s baritone complements hers with a sound that is more John Mayer. It’s fresh like their songs that embrace the history of music while molding it into something new.
