A2SF welcomes back Thornetta Davis, Detroit’s very own Queen of Blues. A multi-talented native of the city, Davis is a 2024 Blues Foundation Blues Music Award Nominee for Soul Blues Female Artist and 2023’s reigning winner in the category. She has won over 30 Detroit Music Awards and electrified audiences on a global scale, from Italy to Australia and all around the world in between. She is currently supporting her latest CD Honest Woman, a stunning blues burner shot through with funk, rock, soul, and gospel. The album is a reflection of Davis’ musically vigorous life and spotlights her no-nonsense approach and contemporary take on blues. Davis is backed by a great band of fellow Detroiters, including guitarist Carlton Washington, keyboardist Phillip Hale, drummer Dave Marcaccio, percussionist James Anderson, and bassist Jim Simonson on Bass.
