Madcat’s CARMa Quartet

Wednesday, June 17 at 8:15PM | Rackham Stage

Genre: Blues, Folk, Roots Music

Grammy-winning harmonica virtuoso Peter Madcat Ruth and his CARMa Quartet are back at A2SF. A beloved festival favorite and hometown hero, Ruth is a long-time fixture on the scene with his ukulele, jaw harp, and kalimba alongside that iconic harmonica. With the CARMa Quartet, he continues to explore musical strands that reverberate throughout his career: American roots music, blues, folk, and jazz, presented as an eclectic mix of traditional and improvisational music. The CARMa Quartet features musicians from across the sonic spectrum, including Grammy-winning tabla drummer John Churchville; bassist Brennan Andes, a founding member of The Macpodz; and guitarist/vocalist Dan Ripke, who performed with the rock-bluegrass quintet Back Forty for 15 years. You can rely on Madcat’s CARMa Quartet to bring plenty of passion and decades of skill for a uniquely delightful performance at Top of the Park this summer!
